These are the 15 reasons that led us to launch a Beer for our 15th anniversary!

This is the month of our 15th birthday, and rather than just being happy about living all these springs and being able to tell the story, we thought we had to do more—in this case, celebrate the way it should be done.

In the middle of so much stuff, we got sentimental. We gathered with the team and started thinking about the best things that have happened to us in these 15 years, and we realized that one of the coolest things we’ve achieved with Fou is making so many friends—and among them, having a buddy who makes beer. But why make a beer at FOU? Well, the more we thought about it, the more reasons we found. We ended up with 15 reasons, yes, 15, and we want to share them with you here:

Reason 1:
The most important one: Friendship!
If there’s something we’ve gained during this time, it’s friends. Some come and go, others stay forever. And so we took the opportunity to figure out what Fou people like most—and it’s not just clothes. Fou folks like beer, and those who don’t like beer surely enjoy a T-shirt with a mythical creature like Humulus… You’re going to meet him soon!

Reason 2:
Celebrate the right way!
There’s no better celebration—or anything more satisfying—than having a beer with a bit of bitterness and some aromatic notes. A brutal contrast that, when you drink it, can refresh your soul. How can you not raise a toast and celebrate knowing that after that sip comes a delicious caress down your throat to say: “long live these 15s”? That’s when we have to drink a beer—but not just any beer. The beer we need to drink is ours.

Reason 3:
When you want to do something that stands out, you’ve got to team up with the ones who know and who are your buddies.
Some time ago, we were thinking of creating something brutal. One of those life coincidences is that we were hanging out at Oktoberfest, and in the middle of so much beer, inspiration struck and we ended up chatting with Camilo, the creator of Hakuna. A buddy and the perfect person to make a beer that would leave us ecstatic. Not so hard, right? That was another reason.

Reason 4:
We like the simple life!
And what’s simpler and tastier than treating yourself to a beer, feeling that flavor and those tingles, then staring into the distance, relaxing, or thinking about any random nonsense? Nothing like enjoying that pleasure—guilty or not—that just makes you feel good.

Reason 5:
We’re a beer crowd, and of course we’re going to let ourselves be carried away by what we love most.
Our beer is a tribute to Colombia’s rich brewing tradition, because if something defines FOU, it’s that we highlight the most awesome parts of our essence. That’s when, creatively, we came up with the being called Humulus, inspired by our beer, which will have notes of copal and hops to create a unique beer—not “unique” like everyone else claims when they make a beer. It’s unique because we made it by merging the DNA of two brands. A beer with a flavor that evokes the landscapes and vibes of our homeland. Every sip is a journey through nature, vegetation, and the delicious taste of what’s ours.

Reason 6:
A collab united by the essence of being Fou
Just like at Fou’s Casa Taller, at Hakuna there's a close-knit team that’s always motivated to do their best in creation and production. Behind every beer, there’s quality—just like with our garments. We’ve shared laughs, challenges, and successes together, and this beer is the result of that collaboration and dedication.

Reason 7:
A commitment to sustainability
We believe in a sustainable future, and that’s why we’ve implemented responsible practices throughout our entire production process. Our beer is made with sustainably sourced ingredients. The copal gives us the essence through the natural process where a larva feeds on the wood, and from that, we take what we need to flavor our beer.

Reason 8:
A gift for our customers
We wanted to create something special to thank all of you for your support throughout these 15 years. This beer is a gift made with lots of love, a sign of our gratitude and the happiness we feel about reaching our 15th anniversary. It’s one of the surprises tucked into the piñata of our celebration.

A sensory adventure out of the ordinary
Every sip of our beer is a sensory journey. From its intense aroma to its balanced flavor, we’ve cared for every detail to create a unique and memorable experience. How could you not feel like trying it when you already dared to become FOU?

A symbol of togetherness
Beer has been a witness to countless moments of celebration and togetherness for us—how about for you? From family gatherings to parties with friends, it has always been there to bring joy and company. Beer doesn’t discriminate—it’s for everyone. Now, will Humulus be for everyone? If they’re Fou beings, yes!

From the cultivation of barley to the final bottling, every stage of our beer production is done with maximum care and attention to detail. Hakuna makes it perfect, and we make it fun. What a match!

Reason 12:
Ancestral and natural flavor
In 2024 we’ve truly bet on the ancestral and the natural. Our beer is a tribute to our roots, to a collaboration between Hakuna and Fou with nature. We’ve combined ancestral traditions with modern techniques to create a beer that’s a total hit.

Reason 13:
Here they are: beers for a promising future!
Of course we have to show off these 15 years of history, and we’re also looking ahead to what we want to keep building. Fou will continue evolving and surprising its people with new varieties and experiences. That’s our mission—or else, what do these 15 years say?

By choosing our beer, you’re supporting local producers and the economy of our region. We believe in fair trade and the value of what’s handmade. Handmade is always better!
