SAVIA: The fashion collection that connects origin, art, and life

Our new collection has arrived and, as you already know, at FOU, before showing you each piece, we want to share what matters most to us: the origin of our inspiration, the symbols that crossed our path, and the voices that guided the creative process. Because if there's something we’re sure of, it's that what we wear on our skin should also be felt in our being.

So how did we decide to name the collection SAVIA—a collection inspired by the life of an Indigenous people who live in the Peruvian Amazon rainforest? Life itself led us to align our thoughts, and we arrived at a beautiful result. Here’s the story:

It happened in one of those moments when the whole team is sitting in the middle of a creative committee, and out of nowhere, someone shares their first impression of what they’re hearing, and gives us the name that captivated us unanimously. We went with it and poured everything into giving it the expansion it deserved, the one we’re now sharing with you through our proposal.

SAVIA is the new collection from FOU – Fuera de lo Común, a proposal rooted in ancestral meaning, bringing every stroke to life with art and a narrative born from the deepest parts of our roots.

Inspired by the Kené art of the Shipibo-Conibo people and by the vital elements that connect us with nature, this limited-edition collection invites you to dress with memory, purpose, and soul.

But the coincidences don't stop there—there’s more. Why the Shipibo-Conibo? Here’s our confession:

During one of those ancestral journeys—the ones you sometimes need—Cisc, FOU's creative director, decided to travel with some longtime friends, our partners from Templo Fungi. On that journey, Cisc encountered a very ancestral version of what nature wanted to reveal to him. Beyond enjoying it, the experience left him with a lingering unease.

That curiosity was so powerful that what Cisc saw was an explosion of patterns and elements that had been circling in his mind for some time—from what he had lived, dreamed, seen, and imagined. From there, he connected the roots of his vision and began fusing shapes and figures that ultimately led him to the Shipibo-Conibo and the sacred geometry of Kené art—something we’ll talk about more in depth later.

So, what does that have to do with SAVIA and why did it inspire this collection?

Savia (sap) is the vital liquid that runs through plants, transporting water, nutrients, and life from the roots to the leaves. There’s raw sap and elaborated sap—but we chose to stay with our own: THE UNIVERSAL SAP.

At FOU, we invite you to see beyond the botanical and ask ourselves:

What is the sap of the human being? Blood.

What is the sap of the Earth? Water.

And what is the sap of cultures? THE UNIVERSAL SAP: MEMORY.

That is how the concept of UNIVERSAL SAP was born: an invisible current that sustains the essence of all living beings.

And what about Kené art—what does it have to do with the Shipibo-Conibo people and the SAVIA collection?

Kené art is a graphic expression of the Shipibo-Conibo, an Indigenous people from the Peruvian Amazon. Their art features elements that reflect the development of civilizations thanks to the river basins of the Peruvian Amazon.

Their geometric patterns are not merely decorative: they represent the energy, knowledge, and cultural DNA of their community.

Every line, every shape, reflects river maps, ancestral chants, and spiritual visions. It is art that tells stories and preserves the origin of a people connected with the forest, the water, and the sacred or ancestral.

Among these many shapes, there are also beings—and Ronin is the figure that connected Cisc’s vision with the Shipibo-Conibo. That’s why we want to share its meaning and how we made it the guardian of our collection.

Who is Ronin? The guardian of the sap

In Shipibo cosmology, Ronin is a mystical serpent that dwells in the waters and protects ancestral knowledge.

Ronin represents the spirit of nature, the balance between the visible and the invisible, and is a symbol of protection and wisdom.

In the SAVIA collection by FOU, Ronin appears in the designs as an homage to the ancestral and as a symbol of respect for the cultures that have known how to live in harmony with the Earth.

What makes the SAVIA collection by FOU unique?

First of all, it is a collection created from the vision of its creator, born from the ritual in which he had the opportunity to participate. Its elements come from the story of a civilization that has given us its art and, for FOU, must be shared. The pieces featured here are not based on superficial trends with a purely commercial goal. Each SAVIA garment is a unique piece of conscious fashion, made by human hands—from the idea to production. Here’s the summary:

Our Inspiration: Ancestral and cultural, from a civilization grounded in the patterns and symbols of Kené art.

Limited Edition: Like everything at FOU—few pieces, handmade in Colombia.

Slow fashion and sustainable fashion: Responsible production that cares for resources and values the process.

Design with soul: Cuts, color palettes, and graphics that tell a story. A tribute to water, art, and memory.

SAVIA, a tribute to what keeps us alive

It’s an invitation to remember that what’s essential flows within us—silently—and connects us with the natural, the ancestral, and the universal.

To close, we leave you with this poem:

From the deepest part of the root,
where the earth holds and that vital liquid remains,
is born what cannot be seen, but can be felt.
What feeds on silence and blooms.

For the very essence!

There is no rush to grow when the origin is clear.
There is no noise where the root speaks.
What is true always prevails.
Only the purest form of what is to come.

Rivers inhabited by their own guardians
The Ronin appear to protect and preserve

The very essence of the vital liquid!

And with this we understand it is a priority to tell
what nature inspires us to create...

No matter where you are,
the essence of the SAP will flow through you.
